The Fly
01:53

Take a drink from your tears
fly round to your ear
tell you a story there
tell me you never cared
tell me you never cared
tell me you never cared
tell me you never cared
Fly right in your nose
make you curl your toes
give you a big fright
I never want to fight
I never want to fight
I never want to fight
I never want to fight
You swat at the fly
You swat at the fly
You swat at the fly
my lesson learned
I got these pretty wings
don't know how to use these things
smash into window panes
Window is wet with brains
Window is wet with brains
Window is wet with brains
Window is wet with brains
Take a drink from your eye
tell me I'm a lovely guy
tell me we see eye to eye
you swat at the fly
you swat at the fly
you swat at the fly
my lesson learned
maybe i'm not a fly

Smile and Nod
04:40
|
|||
The lick of the flames illuminate
as rebel sings a tune of greener days
the water flowed like blood in veins
now the water flows in vein
I struggle a shaky note about
playing in the sun
the sun goes
the sun goes out
It all fell down
We let it
It all falls down
We made it
Holding hands under a tuesday moon
lets hear another tune then retreat to your lean too
rebel sings "see what tomorrow brings you"
I smile and nod
I could die any time
leave you all alone
catastrophe brought us together
and here we are side by side
rebel strains a low whisper
we made all we need
I smile and nod
It all fell down
We let it
It all falls down
We made it
We made it fall

Cicadas
02:35
|
|||
The leaves are falling and the burdock is dead
Two old cicadas sing their dying duet
I see the children run around in the sun
The curtain drops and I go straight back to bed
Another summer's passed me by
They splashed and played and laughed while I
I watched it all from the other side
Of a chain-link fence I couldn't climb
I dream of sunny days 'fore my body broke
Of beaches, barbecues, and climbing old oaks
Of biking harder as the wind kissed my cheeks
Until this sickness stuck a stick in my spokes
Another summer's passed me by
They splashed and played and laughed while I
I watched it all from the other side
Of a chain-link fence I couldn't climb
Cicadas

You May Not

They think we'll budge, but we'll never budge
Never give 'em an inch, never giving up on this
Arm in arm, we're linked strong
Held strong by our conviction
Made stronger still, stronger still
By every beat of our restless hearts
This forest don't need us
But we can't live without
The flowing streams, the rustle of leaves
The food and shelter it provides
They think we'll budge, but we'll never budge
Never give 'em an inch, make 'em think about this.
Every hour 3 million dollars
3 million dollars gone to waste
That natural gas or clean water
Or clean water or that natural gas
Is there any question why we've gathered here?
Our tempers get hot in the August air
We'll push you back, push you back
Hear our cries, they served us well
Let our voices scream out
You may not touch this place
You may not cross that line
You will never cross that line
They think we'll budge, but we'll never budge
Never give 'em an inch, never giving up on this
Arm in arm, we're linked strong
Held strong by our conviction
Made stronger still, stronger still
By every beat of our restless hearts
This forest don't need us
But we can't live without
The flowing streams, the rustle of leaves
The food and shelter it provides
No, you may not lay a finger on it.
You may not touch this place
You may not cross that line
You will never cross that line

Blanket Fort
03:37
|
|||
When the world seems overwhelming
and you need your mothers womb.
When the sign up on the door frame
flips from Woop Woop to Doom Doom.
When you need a place to hide out
refuge from the growing gloom.
Someplace quiet, warm, and comfy.
Here's what I propose to you!
Let's Build a Blanket Fort!
Let's Build a Blanket Fort!
Let's Build a Blanket Fort!
Let's Build a Blanket Fort!
We can build a secret entrance
one only we can find.
We're safe inside our sacred temple,
with our legs intertwined.
Slip the tea pot in its cozy,
select a calming herbal blend.
Pour hot water on the bag and
spend an evening with a friend!
Let's Build a Blanket Fort!
Let's Build a Blanket Fort!
Let's Build a Blanket Fort!
Let's Build a Blanket Fort!
